Modeled Shared Practice Guided Practice Independent
Speaking Teacher reviews old language patterns and introduces new ones using a puppet or a picture of another person.

EX: Teacher asks puppet all of the questions from the language pattern and puppet answers.
Model how to write name, address and phone number in their book. Once students have their information in their book, teacher calls on different students to answer, “What is your address? What is your telephone number?” questions. Also ask, “Do you have a brother/sister? and Where do you live?” Students use interview questions A1 and interview other students in the class. They will want to have their telephone books handy to remember their address and phone number.

Have partners share the information that they learned in front of class.

Extension activity: Activity Sheet 31 (Carousel of Ideas, set 1, Resource book)
Student us Activity Sheet 1 and draw their family and their house. Their picture should contain all of the answers to the questions that they have been practicing.

Ex: A house with the address by the door and a street sign with the street name, all of their sisters and brothers, a talking bubble above a picture of themselves sharing their name, birthday, how old they are and their phone number.

When students have finished their picture, they should practice sharing their pictures with partners and explaining all of their information. Then they should present their information to the class.
